AppLocation Expands Vessel Tracking Service with BC Ferries Coastal Renaissance TransAtlantic Crossing
BC Ferries Innovation + MOBILEFusion Platform = value for internal corporate use and superior customer service
BC based technology company AppLocation Systems is helping BC Ferries celebrate the delivery of the Super C-class ferries with the addition of Coastal Renaissance to BC Ferries’ vessel tracking service.
Paul Curtis, BC Ferries’ Manager of Web Services said, “We are always looking for new ways to improve the information we provide to our customers. Working with AppLocation to add Coastal Renaissance’s transatlantic journey to our website was a great way to share this very important event in our history.”
BC Ferries uses AppLocation’s MOBILEFusion™ Tracking and Logistics Platform that allows the Company to use advanced and innovative mobile vessel tracking functions and mapping for internal and customer facing purposes. AppLocation President Gary Hartwig explains, “BC Ferries is at the forefront of fleet and logistics capabilities by investing in best of breed infrastructure that provides flexibility for future expansion of mobility and customer services. The MOBILEFusion platform will allow future integration for mobile handset based services in addition to the web and digital signage services already deployed in four of the major terminals.”
AppLocation will be demonstrating the MOBILEFusion system as part of the Island TECH 2007 Innovation Showcase sponsored by the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre at the Victoria Conference Centre on Friday, November 9th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Tickets are available at the door.
